The obituary notice of John Frederick (Fred) MELLOWS

RIP Fred many happy memories from racing thinking of your family.

Fred (John Frederick Mellows) was the closest I ever got to having had a brother. He was always there for me in good times and bad, for 81 years.
Barbara my sister (3 years younger than me) lives in New Zealand. She and I have fond memories from our childhood, of swinging the milk cans from the Mellows farm in Thorpe Lane, back home to our grand-parents (Mr. Mrs. William Topliss’) small holding by the crossing.
John and I, and our children, loved coming to Eagle to be shown around the area (and Lincoln) by Fred.
Little did Fred and I know (when I was in his borrowed pram) that our friendship would last a lifetime. Fred will be sadly missed by all.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family Tracy. Your Dad has a special place in our hearts and we will always fondly remember his visit to see his cousins in Canada and the times we got to meet up with him in England. -Janet, Jim, Benjamin and Nancy
